New Delhi, August 2026: Carrying forward
the legacy and values of a freedom fighter family, Ramendra Mishra has been
appointed National Coordinator of the Civil Society & Policy Research
Domain of the All India Professionals’ Congress. The appointment, dated 14
August 2026, marks another significant step in a journey that has brought
together entrepreneurship, corporate consulting, public-policy research and
political organisation.
Ramendra Mishra comes from a
freedom fighter family, where the values of public service, commitment to the
nation and social responsibility have remained an important part of his
upbringing. These values have continued to influence his professional and political
journey.
His association with the All
India Professionals’ Congress spans several years. In 2020, Ramendra Mishra was
appointed Community Initiatives Coordinator in the All India Professionals’
Congress Delhi unit. He later took charge as Head of the Civil Society &
Policy Research Domain in Madhya Pradesh. Under his latest appointment,
Ramendra Mishra will take on national responsibilities while continuing his
existing state role.
His leadership journey began
well before active organisational politics. During his college years, Ramendra
Mishra won the National Entrepreneurship Challenge at IIT Bombay, becoming the
first student from Madhya Pradesh to achieve the distinction. The achievement
reflected an early interest in innovation, leadership and problem-solving.
Professionally, Ramendra
Mishra has worked as a business analyst and consultant, including assignments
involving major US-based companies. His corporate experience has covered
technology, business transformation, research and stakeholder management. Over
the years, he has sought to bring the same analytical and solution-oriented
approach to public policy and political work.
Within the Congress
ecosystem, Ramendra Mishra has contributed across policy research, election
strategy, campaign planning and election management. He has worked on
organisational efforts associated with difficult and closely contested
constituencies and has also contributed research and policy inputs to the
Congress party’s manifesto exercise during the Lok Sabha elections.
His work in the All India
Professionals’ Congress has particularly focused on converting research into
public engagement. Through All India Professionals’ Congress Reads, Ramendra
Mishra has worked on issues including the MPPSC examination system and its
impact on youth, the Dharavi redevelopment project and concerns of local
businesses and MSMEs, employment, corporate accountability and investor-related
issues.
He has also contributed to
research-led interventions examining major government programmes. The Civil
Society & Policy Research platform highlighted concerns surrounding Skill
India and the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana, using audit findings to
encourage discussion on implementation, expenditure and outcomes.
Through All India
Professionals’ Congress ThinkLab, Ramendra Mishra has helped create platforms
bringing together researchers, activists, political representatives and
affected communities. Discussions have included the Ken-Betwa river-linking
project, focusing on development as well as the rights and concerns of local
communities.
More recently, he has helped
organise national conversations through X Spaces, bringing political leaders,
lawyers, journalists, students, activists and policy voices together. These
discussions have addressed subjects ranging from India’s education system and
challenges facing students to the aspirations and concerns of Gen Z, expanding
the platform for youth-oriented political dialogue.
Alongside his organisational
responsibilities, Ramendra Mishra has emerged as a public-policy writer and
commentator. His articles have appeared in ThePrint, where his author profile
features more than 20 contributions on public affairs, economics, technology
and artificial intelligence. He has also written for Karmrath, including on
tariffs, international trade and the changing global economic order.
The appointment as National
Coordinator of the All India Professionals’ Congress Civil Society & Policy
Research Domain now gives Ramendra Mishra a broader platform to connect
professionals, researchers and civil-society stakeholders with political and
policy initiatives across the country.
From the values inherited
from a freedom fighter family to entrepreneurship, corporate consulting,
election management and public-policy research, Ramendra Mishra’s journey
reflects an effort to bring professional expertise, research and grassroots
political engagement together.
His new national
responsibility represents both recognition of that journey and a larger
challenge: to strengthen the bridge between civil society, professionals,
evidence-based policy research and political action at the national level.
